Josh Mika & Mary Kienstra

Mainstage Theater

Thursday, March 1st, 2012

3:45 - 4:30 PM

Description of the session:

"--Empowering kids to demonstrate their learning through digital media using ePub projects across the curriculum.

Today’s students can represent their learning in a variety of multimedia experiences.  The self-publishing revolution brings all types of media into one interactive experience on your iOS device.  Your students can have an authentic learning experience creating ePub projects with any content, any grade, using existing curriculum.  Participants will become familiar publishing student work in ePub formats using Apple’s Pages program and the ability to distribute them in a variety of ways.  Learn how you can help students engage in authentic practice and create the media they want to read."

You may download the electronic book to help you create digital texts with your students! iBook | ePub | PDF

THANK YOU to the 30+ participants who stayed for our 3:45 session and dealt with the VGA + iPad adaptor issues.  Always good to have a document camera back-up plan! :-)

*ePub version is finally available!  Many of the interactive widgets from the iBook & 3-1-12 presentation have been turned into movies.  Pause the movie to read each section as necessary.
